Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who qualifies for a ride?

We serve residents of Buncombe County who are seniors (60+) or adults with a physical disability (mobility challenges requiring a walker or wheelchair).

Q: Is there a cost for the ride?

No. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, fueled by community support and county grants. We believe connection is a right, so we do not charge our neighbors.

Q: Where do you go?

I provide rides that start and end within Buncombe County. This includes Arden, Asheville, Barnardsville, Candler, Leicester, Mars Hill, Marshall, Swannanoa, and Weaverville.

Q: What days do you drive?

I drive Sunday through Thursday, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Q: How many rides can I take?

MAX RIDES: 3 round trips per month.

To keep the service fair for everyone, you can mix and match your three rides as follows (limits reset on the 1st):

  • Family & Worship: Up to 3 round-trip rides.
  • Social Outings: Capped at 1 round-trip ride.
  • Errands & Chores: Capped at 1 round-trip ride.

Example: You could take 1 Church trip, 1 Grocery trip, and 1 Social visit. This equals 3 total rides.

Note: A one-way trip consumes one round trip. Please schedule one ride at a time.

Q: Can I make a quick stop?

If the daily schedule allows, I am happy to include one quick stop at a pharmacy, bank, or post office as an “add-on” to your scheduled ride. Please mention this when you request your ride so I can build the extra time into the route.

Q: What if I have a fixed appointment?

For major life events or fixed appointments (like a wedding or funeral), you may request a ride up to one week in advance. I will call you shortly after your request to confirm so you can plan with peace of mind.

Q: Can a caregiver ride with me?

Yes. Up to two companions may ride with you for free. Please mention them when you request the ride so I can ensure there are seats available.
